Introduction to Quilting - with Jennifer Mellow

Introduction to Quilting– with Jennifer Mellow
This one-day class offers a comprehensive introduction to quiltmaking, with a focus on building accurate and efficient techniques from the start. We’ll focus on the basics with rotary cutting, understanding different block types, half square triangles, quarter square triangles, and sewing accurate blocks.
We will be making different units that can be assembled for quilt blocks as we learn techniques for traditional quilting. By the end of class, you will have the knowledge needed to make this sample block, but it is not the only possible product of this class.
As time allows, we will discuss how to create your own sampler quilt by joining blocks, adding borders, considering quilting options, binding, and labelling your quilt.
